Support for People with Disabilities

  • Who Can Apply
    Applications are welcome from people with all types of disabilities who meet eligibility criteria, based on an inclusive definition aligned with the Australian Disability Discrimination Act (1992).
  • Selection Process:
    All applicants are assessed on merit; disability does not affect selection chances.

    • Assistance by way of reasonable adjustments during the Interview
    • Assistance with mobility, travel, and communication
    • Accessible study materials
    • Assistive technology and carer support
  • Confidentiality:
    All the information shared with AASI remains confidential and used solely to provide appropriate assistance.
  • Solomon Islands Context:
    Understanding local challenges such as transport and service access, Australia Awards provides continuous support from application through return, linking scholars to local disability groups and alumni.
