The Alumni Leadership Awards recognise and honour Australia Awards alumni who studied either in Australia or in the region, and who have made an outstanding contribution to their profession, community, and country. Supported by the Australian High Commission in Solomon Islands, the awards are distinguished honours that celebrate alumni who are an inspiration in their local, national, and international networks. Award winners will receive AUD 5,000 that goes towards professional development activities. Highlighting the significant contributions made by alumni in Solomon Islands, the Alumni Leadership Awards strengthen and nurture the people-to-people links between Solomon Islands and Australia.
Nominations for awards are called on AHC Facebook page and through local media channels.Â

The Women’s Leadership Award
The Alumni Women’s Leadership Award celebrates women who have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and dedication; breaking barriers and creating opportunities for others. It honours those who inspire positive change in their communities, workplaces, and industries, serving as role models for future generations.
This award will be announced on International Women’s Day, on March 8th
 The Climate Warrior Award
This award recognises Australia Awards Solomon Islands alumni who show exceptional leadership in climate action, environmental protection, and sustainability. It celebrates alumni who address climate change and environmental challenges through innovative, sustainable solutions, activities, or policies for a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient environment.
This award is announced on World Environmental Day, on June 5th
Distinguished Alumni Award
The award recognises/honours a newly graduated alumnus with exceptional/outstanding academic performance or those that receive awards or recognition from a university.
This award is announced at the farewell event for departing scholars, usually in November/December each year.
The Disability Inclusion Award
This award recognises alumni who champion the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of people with disabilities. It celebrates alumni who demonstrate leadership in removing barriers, promoting accessibility, and fostering inclusive environments in their communities, workplaces, or policy spaces. These alumni are advocates for equity and inspire change through their commitment to creating a society where everyone, regardless of ability, can thrive and participate fully.
This award will be announced on International Day of Persons with Disability, on December 3rd
